Welcome from the Acting Headteacher
I am extremely proud to lead Holmer Green Senior School, where high quality teaching across all areas makes a real difference to young people's lives.
From whatever their starting point at the end of their Primary School, our students reach the critical ages of 16 and 18 with results that are far higher than their peers. With our outstanding achievement of record results, there is no ceiling on our expectations of what our students can achieve. Students at Holmer Green Senior School leave well prepared to thrive, be that at university, securing an apprenticeship or entering employment.
High standards of effort, behaviour and manners are hallmarks of Holmer Green Senior School, as are opportunities for trips and extra-curricular activities.
I would be delighted to welcome you to our school and to show you how confident and capable our students are.
Mr Peter Tang, Acting Headteacher
Dear Parents and Students
I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mr E Hillyard as the new Headteacher of Holmer Green Senior School.
Mr Hillyard was appointed following a rigorous interview process of many high calibre candidates. He comes from Cox Green School in Berkshire with a strong foundation in school management and leadership and we are confident his vision, commitment and drive will move HGSS in the direction we wish to travel.
Mr Hillyard has an excellent track record for driving improvement and challenging underperformance. He believes that:
- Every Holmer Green student should receive a first-class education
- Every Holmer Green student should feel part of a strong, vibrant and caring community
- Every Holmer Green student should leave confident, well qualified and inspired and prepared for whatever challenges they may face.
Mr Hillyard says:
I am excited to be appointed as Headteacher of Holmer Green School. I look forward to getting to know the students, parents and staff and to building on the existing record of success. I am keen to serve the school and its community by working hard to ensure it continues on its path to becoming the best school in Bucks with the very highest standards.
Mr Jones will leave HGSS at Easter and Mr Hillyard will pick up the reins full time on 1 September but will start his Headship on a part-time basis after the Summer half term. We are grateful to his current school for agreeing to his early release
I would like to take the opportunity of thanking all the candidates for their interest in Holmer Green Senior School.
I am sure you join me in welcoming Mr Hillyard to HGSS and will fully support him in his new role.
Mr David Greenwood, Chair of Governors
