Employers
Would you like to support our students and inspire young people about your industry? Research has demonstrated that improving business engagement in schools leads to improvements in self-confidence, self-esteem and, most of all, personal motivation. (www.careersandenterprise.co.uk/research/state-nation-2019)
We are very keen to work with local organisations and industry to improve our students’ awareness and understanding of the workplace. We are always looking for volunteers who can help with the following:
- Short, 20 minute assemblies introducing your industry/profession, your career journey and the skills, training and opportunities involved
- Longer workshops (1hr) with KS5 where students can benefit from guidance on key skills, eg interview technique, CV writing, industry mentoring
- Career carousels: 10 minute presentation to a class alongside 4 or 5 other professionals to showcase the industry, skills, training and opportunities
- Work experience placements and job shadowing: Y12 Work Experience week 6010 July 2020.
- Mock interviews
- Speed networking
- Curriculum-linked careers inspiration in the classroom
