Community and Charity Information
Robs ARTTT (A Rare Teenage Tumour Trust - reg charity 1122990)
Rob Holland was 14 years old when he diagnosed with a very rare cancer, Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour. Sadly, after battling this aggressive disease for 6 months, Robert passed away on the 4 September 2007, at the tender age of 15. Rob wanted to raise awareness of this aggressive disease and to have a research facility in the UK, as the only research into DSRCT is in Huston, Texas, USA. Rob was a student at Holmer Green Senior School and we do all we can to support his wish.
The intial sum of £100,000 to fund three years research has been met but the aim is to continue funding the research and this would cost around £30,000 per year. This is where we can all help. All donations are greatly received, please give generously so that the search can continue for a better treatment for this Teenage Cancer, or indeed, a cure, so that other teenagers don't have to go through what Rob did.
