The Latest BITE News ….
Firstly let me wish both students and parents a Happy New Year, for many in the school this will not only be a busy year but a fruitful one as well!
We hit 2016 running in the BITE Department as KS5 mocks start from 25 January, therefore students should be preparing at home with past papers, revision notes and wider reading. I am more than happy to help any students that would like advice, please contact me via the email supplied above.
Just before the Christmas break, Y11 sat their Predictive exams in ICT and Business Studies. Although this was a challenging time for students, the BITE team and I are pleased with the results. Although the results have been pleasing we urge students to ensure they continue to work hard in order to maintain and make good progress. In order to help students I have made myself available after school in BS1 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 3:30pm and 4:30pm. Students can use this time to revise, ask questions or most importantly, to complete or improve coursework
Many Year 11 students have produced excellent pieces of coursework, however some students have not attended any intervention sessions after school which are put on in order to make sure that they meet and exceed their targets. Please ensure that if you have outstanding coursework that you attend one of the revision clubs mentioned above.
Finally, in order to improve the level of ICT and Computing at KS3 students will be working on developing HTML websites and learning the computer coding language of Python. Should students be interested there is a computing club on Thursday 3:30pm – 4:30pm where they can complete coding projects. If students would like to improve their understanding and application of coding at home, please direct them to https://uk.code.org
