Holmer Green Student scouted by the FA
Carly currently plays football for MK Dons Centre of Excellence and it was whilst playing a match for MK Dons that she was scouted by England FA to join their U15 National Performance Camp. It’s a massive achievement for Carly, underlined by the fact that only 2 girls (including Carly) out of her Centre of 60 have made it to this level.
She has always been so dedicated and passionate with her football – she started playing for Downley Dynamos at the age of 6, and got picked for MK Dons at the age of 9. Playing for MK Dons has a massive impact on her life – she travels to Milton Keynes every Monday and Wednesday night, more or less, straight from school – to train. She also has to get up at an ungodly hour every Saturday morning to travel anywhere in the country for a match. She makes huge sacrifices with foregoing any social events that clash with her football, as well as her fitness, diet and exercise targets. She somehow manages to keep on top of her school work while pursuing her football dream, something which her mum and the school are unbelievably proud of her for doing.
She’s so excited to achieve this recognition and we all wish her good luck!
