Work Experience Placement of the Year
HGSS Students wins award!
Holmer Green Senior School Sixth Form welcomed John Shaw and Steph Rodgers from Chiltern Rangers today, to award their Under 18 Work experience Placement Student of the Year to Year 13 Jonathan Semus.
Chiltern Rangers are a Conservation and social enterprise organisation who work with local communities to provide practical habitat management of the woodlands, chalk grassland, commons, ponds and chalk streams in the Chilterns’ area.
Managing Director John Shaw said of Jonathan “we have many students who work with us for their work experience placements, but Jonathan really stood out as a young man who worked incredibly hard. He was polite, punctual and showed a huge amount of initiative, something that is so valuable to employers. He really did demonstrate all the key employability skills, which will make him a very valued employee in the future. He was a real asset, and a credit to the school and the Sixth form”
Chiltern Rangers are always on the lookout for willing volunteers to contribute to their local initiatives. If you are interested, do go to their website www.chilternrangers.co.uk to find out all about current projects in the local area.
