Platinum Artsmark Award
We are delighted to announce Holmer Green Senior School has been named as a Platinum Artsmark School. This is the highest level of achievement, and above gold status.
The panel recognised our “strength in providing a wide range of high quality learning opportunities and arts and cultural experiences for our students through driving and embedding a whole school approach to creativity. Our school was commended for its partnership working with local schools and university as a recognised hub for the visual arts and provision of CPD for feeder primaries”.
We are very proud to receive this award. It sits alongside the outstanding achievement in the arts subjects, and our ethos linked to creativity for the whole school.
Quote from Annie Hearne, Assistant Headteacher (Creative Curriculum)
“I am delighted we have this award. The bid was complex and we had to prove we use creativity to underpin learning and progress, both in school and in the wider community. To be awarded Platinum, the top award, makes it all worthwhile. This is fantastic recognition for the students and staff who work so hard relentlessly to prove the worth of the creative subjects.
Quote from Michael Jones, Headteacher
"I am so proud of this recognition for our wonderful Art, Drama and Music Departments. It is clear that the Arts flourish at HGSS and our students receive a creative education that is second to none. Congratulations to all the staff who led our application and provide such outstanding teaching as well as to all those students whose work was judged to be so impressive by the awarding body. What a proud day for HGSS!"
