Annie Hearne - Head of Art Department said
“ We are very proud that the students have received recognition for their success. They worked really hard to achieve exceptional grades.
The students are a credit to the school. This kind of success inspires other students to achieve their goals. It is really difficult to achieve these grades. The students worked consistently throughout the course to meet the assessment objectives at such a high level. The Art department encourages discipline, hard work and excellence. The student achievement confirms that students are prepared to work hard in order to excel. We are very pleased that the school has been recognised by the exam board.”
Headteacher, Michael Jones added:
“The school could see that last year’s GCSE and A Level students had produced work of an exceptionally high standard at our wonderful Art exhibition last summer. To have the recognition from the national examination board shows just how remarkable our students’ work is. The school is incredibly proud of both the students and the staff who inspire them to do so well. From my visits to lessons this year I can see that the current Year 11 and 6th Form are not only set to repeat such achievements but I feel confident that they may even surpass last year’s success. Indeed our current Year 13 students are already receiving unconditional offers from prestigious Art colleges for them to take their work to the university level. Art is clearly flourishing at Holmer Green.”
