A Cappella with Tori Longdon
On Thursday 22 January 2015 we were visited by well known voice coach - Tori Longdon
On Thursday 21st January, Holmer Green Senior School Choir was privileged to have a vocal work shop with Tori Longdon. Tori has previously worked on the BBC Two show 'The Naked Choir', Hertfordshire County Youth Choir, and National Youth Choirs of Great Britain. Tori encouraged the students to sing A Cappella which we haven't done before. The students were able to rise to the challenge and were very good at keeping close harmonies. I was very proud of our singers and believe that it has given us a boost before our trip to Music for Youth festival in March.
Learning to sing A cappella with Tori was really fun and educational as got pushed to sing how we haven't sung before.

The Session with Tori was Fab! I loved learning different parts to 'All the Single Ladies' and trying to beatbox made us all laugh! Overall I really enjoyed it.

Yesterday I really enjoyed making the harmonies and once they were finished it sounded amazing. We were singing in a style we hadn't tried before. It was very educational and I had a lot of fun. My voice was stretched to the limit and I sung like I had never sung before. I really enjoyed it

When Tori came in to teach us A Cappella I found it fun but also quite challenging we were taught how to sing different parts in harmony. This was challenging because we had not done this before.

Yesterday was very fun and very educational. We got taught how to sing in harmonies and different parts. It was challenging when we sang in 5 different parts. I liked singing Beyoncé.

We Learned to perform music in a new style which was refreshing and fun! It was a challenge, but I think we should try it more often. It stretched us as a choir and proved we can do it.
