Recent Drama Events
A look at what has been happening in Drama and Dance
The Drama studio is full every night with its over prescribed Key Stage 3 Drama club on Tuesdays, Year 7 Dance with Miss Lewin and Year 8 Dance with Miss Lidbury on Wednesdays and Year 9 Dance club on a Thursday. The result will be a Key Stage 3 open event, called 'At The Movies' on Tuesday 1 December, 5-7pm in the studio. Please watch out for ticket letters.
Key Stage 4 have opportunities to catch up with their coursework on Tuesday and Wednesday lunch time and Thursday after school. There have been two assessment performances recently: Drama group C performed on Tuesday 3 November, in the studio and Drama group D performed on Thursday 5 November. Parents and invited friends are welcome to watch during this assessment. All Drama students will have a written predictive exam in the exam period too. Key Stage 4 Drama students also attended Disco Pigs a new scripted drama performance. This will form the basis of their final practical assessment next year.
The Key Stage 4 Dance girls has a choreography workshop on Tuesday 3 November during their lesson time. This will help the girls with their five hour choreography exam during the predictive exam period before Christmas.
Key Stage 5 have been working hard on three pieces of drama so far: their Theatre in Education piece, which deals with the pressures of intimacy in modern day society, will be shown in the studio on Tuesday 8 December 4 30-5:30pm and their Artaud inspired Theatre of Cruelty piece will be shown alongside their Godber inspired piece on Tuesday 15 December, 4.30-5.30pm. Please come and support.
There was a Gifted and Talented Drama and Dance trip to see Bend it Like Beckham on Thursday 3 December.
