Sixth Form Academic Results 2023

Message from Mr Hillyard, Headteacher:

Sixth Form Results

We are incredibly proud of this year’s Holmer Green Senior School students and congratulate them on a very successful year.  It is great to see our students continuing to strive to be the best possible versions of themselves.  These results, and more importantly your destinations, have been a direct result of their hard work, excellence and resilience over their seven year journey with us.

Students’ University and apprenticeship destinations this year have included: Birmingham, Cardiff, Exeter, Loughborough, Nottingham, Southampton, University of London and Warwick.  Subjects studied and apprenticeships awarded have included: Medicine, Finance, Law, Engineering, Business, Art, Textiles and Computer Science.

Star performers this year were many and include: William Thomson-Bray (A*, A, A), Miia Patel (A, A, B), Jessica Morgan (A, A, A), Harry McCloud (Distinction*, A, B), Emily Mason (A, A, A, C) and Saqib Aslam (Distinction*, Distinction, Distinction, C) to name a few.

There have been the inevitable, annual news reports on grades, but we encourage our students to take their grades at face value and realise that a grade does not define them.  The aim of Exam Boards this year has been to transition results back in line with Summer 2019, meaning comparisons with results and grades, each summer, since then are not meaningful.

For any support around Universities and Apprenticeships for students please come in and see us, or contact Mrs Golding or Mrs Walden.

At Holmer Green we continue to refute the notion that 11+ or SATs results create a ceiling for a student’s aspirations.  Our focus on individuals and giving them the right support means that they flourish and get to where they want to go.

A huge congratulations again on students’ achievements this week.
