Parents' Association Update

The Parents' Association have got off to a flying start this half term.

Our first event for this year was the very successful quiz night with over 100 participants competing, and of course taking part in the pudding auction and playing heads and tails, which was won by a member of the prefects team. The new PA sound and projection system, purchased by the PA worked well, thank you to the HGSS Tech Team.

Next up on the calendar is the Christmas Fayre on 17 November  and I have to say we have a fantastic list of stall holders (30+) booked in selling: candles, jewellery, chocolates, stocking fillers, local produce, cards etc, there will also be a bouncy castle, games, café, tombollas. Your children will be bringing back one book of raffle tickets each, although as a parent I know I might have to dig in a rucksack to find them! This year there are some superb prizes to be won and at only £5 a book it has to be worth a go!

Please alert all your friends and family to save the date and invite them along to get in some early Christmas shopping. If any parents are able to offer a couple of hours or even one to help then please let a member of the PA know, easiest option is to do so via Facebook@hgss pa

We're also planning ahead to the New Year for an evening with Ian Keable, comedian, magician and mind reader, so pencil in 22 March 19 to your diaries. We will let you know when bookings open.

Lucky Numbers first draw of the year will take place at our November meeting so there is still time to be in with a chance of winning up to £50.  Just complete the form
https://www.hgss.co.uk/_site/data/files/parents/pa/158AA790ECD5D4E7900B58896F67FFD6.pdf  and payment can be via cash, cheque or on line.

The work of the PA can only continue with support of parents, this could just be through help publicising events, donating prizes, donating time, delivering flyers, purchasing raffle tickets, attending events. We are grateful for all support. The committee take on the role of organising events but we really need volunteers to help run them.  All money raised goes towards improving the school environment for our children.
