From a Year 7 Parent - April 2016:
“I am writing to say how proud and impressed we were as parents at the Y7 parents evening last night!
It was the first time we had been back to the school since our daughter had been accepted, and the feeling of warmth and happiness remained. The teachers that we met were all lovely, and I can now see why my daughter loves going to Holmer Green!!
As parents you are always afraid that your child may not settle in to Secondary School as well as you would like but on this occasion I have to say that the transition has been marvellous and I feel this is probably the case for most parents whose child attends your school. As I wait for her to come out at the end of her day the sound of laughter is all you can hear coming from the children as they make their way home.
I can honestly say we are so happy we trusted our judgement as did our daughter and decided on choosing Holmer Green for her Secondary School.
You have done an amazing job in creating the perfect environment for a child to learn and be happy at the same time.
You all deserve a big pat on the back!!!”
From the Head Boy and Head Girl - May 2016
My time in Holmer Green Sixth Form has been unforgettable. The staff have helped make every decision that I have made easy and stress free and have pushed me to my best abilities. Without them I wouldn’t have applied to university or had the confidence to step into the real world. I am very grateful.
Lucy Boardman, Head Girl
I have been at Holmer Green Senior School for almost half of my life, walking down the same halls, sitting in the same seats and learning the same subjects as hundreds and thousands of other students. But from day one I was known as an individual. The dedication of all staff towards all students, and often vica versa, is immensely obvious to everyone. My two years in Holmer Green Sixth Form have been both enjoyable and hard work. As Head Boy I have been privileged to be among such excellent people and friends. I believe I can leave confidently knowing that our Sixth Form will continue to improve through the current Year 12 and that each student has the opportunity to develop themselves. School is not just a building we go to each week, it’s a community, a place which comes to define us as we move onto later life and there is no better place to learn that definition than at Holmer Green Senior School.
