Academic Results 2016
Holmer Green Senior School is delighted to announce another record breaking set of GCSE results with 65% of students achieving 5+ A*-C including English and Maths. Across the whole school once again 40% of all grades were A*-B and 70% of all grades were A*-C. Over 50% of grades in Art and in Catering were A*-A and there were over 25% A*-A grades in Maths, Science, Child Development, Dance, French and Spanish. There were over 80% A*-C results in Art, Catering, French, History, Maths, Music, Religious Studies, Science and Spanish. This is outstanding achievement for Holmer Green and far surpasses the achievements set this year in Comprehensive schools.
Top attainers include Victoria Whitehead with 11 A*-As, Ellie Hennequin and Rebecca Lyle with 10 A*-As and Kaylie Baker Costi, Isobel Beech, Angus Douglas, Matthew Eteen, Madeline Harker, Matthew Hobbs and Anya Naumovic with 7 A*-As.
Michael Jones, the Headteacher, added: “Congratulations to all our students on working so hard to achieve such a wonderful set of grades. They (and their extremely supportive families) thoroughly deserve their success. A huge thank you also to all the staff who taught them so well and gave such terrific support above and beyond the call of duty. I feel so privileged to lead a team of colleagues that inspire young people to do so well.”
Sixth Form Results
Holmer Green Senior School is celebrating its best ever set of A Level and BTEC Level 3 results. The pass rate at A Level was 100% of grades being A*-E or equivalent. 40% of grades were A*-B with 78% being A*-C. Vocational results were every bit as impressive with all bar 3 entries being at Distinction* level which is equivalent to a Grade A at A Level. The other three were graded Distinction which is equivalent to a Grade C.
At A/S there was similar success with our best ever Year 12 results. The pass rate was 96% with 40% being A-B grades and 65% at A-C. With such outcomes, the year group are promising to achieve another record breaking year in 2017.
Every student who had applied to university secured their first choice with a number of unconditional offers already having been secured.

I am delighted for our Head of Sixth Form, Rachel Golding and her team who have transformed the quality of our Sixth Form and raised both aspirations and expectations of what our students can achieve. I would like to congratulate all our successful students and thank every member of staff who provided them with the opportunity to achieve such outstanding results.”
