Green committee at HGSS has made great progress over the past year. We are working to raise awareness of green issues and to make the school a more eco-friendly place.
We’ve already won the Eco Schools Bronze Award and are currently working on our action plan for Silver! We have organised various fundraising events in order to buy more recycling bins, such as the Go Bananas day in March and we also joined forces with ASDAN students in order to raise money for Comic Relief. Our latest venture was ‘The Big Tidy Up’ day which took place on 19th June; this involved our committee volunteers picking up litter for one day only in order to improve our school environment.
We are keen to welcome new members from years 7-9 if you would like to help make our school greener see our notice board in the dining hall for more information!
