Media Elements

Librarian / Resources Co-ordinator:  Mrs V Lane

Welcome to our recently extended and refurbished multi-media resource centre.

The LRC is open every day, see below for opening hours.  Monitors assist the Librarian and the students who choose to work here.

Classes use the LRC for English, IT and group work and the Sixth Form has privileged access.  Students may use the computers, do research, browse through magazines and periodicals or read fiction of their own choice.

Staff negotiate with the Librarian to send students out of lessons to use the facilities, giving them the opportunity to find their own material for research – a skill which is valuable for their lifetime.  This gives students a sense of responsibility and is based on trust.

Students are given the opportunity and encouragement to use the wealth of resources to develop their skills in a spacious and comfortable area that is well used and stimulating.
